Frank Rogers A leading Partner with major legal firm Lees Lloyd Whitley, Frank is also Head of the Firm’s Union Law Department and Member of the Law Society’s Personal Injury Panel. He has been involved in advising Members of the Prison Officers’ Association since 1975 and his first case was to secure the acquittal of four Liverpool Officers at Crown Court Trial. Under Frank’s direction, Lees Lloyd Whitley has acted as local agents for the Prison Officers’ Association (POA) in Merseyside and the North West from 1975 until 1992 when the Firm was appointed the Union’s national solicitors. Frank also coordinates the Lees Lloyd Whitley attendance at the annual POA Conference and edits all the material for the Conference Magazine. He also regularly attends other key union events, including the TUC Congress. Frank also represented the Ashworth Committee at the 1991/92 Public Enquiry, and having appeared throughout England at numerous Inquests during the 1990’s, he now specialises in Personal Injury and Stress cases. He has secured substantial awards for damages in Stress claims, including those arising from the Prison Service Sex Offender Treatment Programme, bullying at work and post traumatic stress. Frank is passionate about securing better recognition for the work carried out by POA Members and for improved safeguards against the risks they are exposed to. Frank and fellow Partner Tony Marriott, make regular visits to POA establishments to review existing cases and meet with Branch Officials. Frank also conducts training for POA Branch Officials twice a year. Married and with five sons, Frank is an avid Liverpool supporter and enjoys all things Italian - in 2007 he achieved an A* in Italian ‘O’ level. He also enjoys gardening, reading, especially political biographies, and walking his two dogs. March 2008
